Well, to be honest with you, he had a few doubts about the 30 horse engine, but it's sure cooler than a 34 horse engine which everyone already has. The car was in a very solid state, mostly because it has spent his life in Sweden. Even all the documentation was available.
It has 50 percent original paint, under the chrome trim it is resprayed in '77. The original paint was a bit dull so when he bought the car it looked like an awful two tone. Here is how he saw the car for the first time:

There was a '64 beetle for sale too, which was in a somewhat nicer shape. But hey, who wants a '64 beetle if you can get a '60 one ?!
But there was only one problem: mcdronkz is so tall that he couldn't drove it back. So he asked a fellow VW fanatic to drive it back. Here is how the car arrived at mcdronkz' home:
